There have been a lot of positive things written about CBD and hemp oil in the last few years. There’s also much more research being carried out into its potential importance for health and wellbeing?
But can adding some hemp oil to your regime actually make your life better?
Here are just three areas where adding it to your daily diet may produce a therapeutic effect.
Destress With Hemp Oil
There’s no doubt that most of us are leading hectic lives with plenty of stress. We’ve got to think about our careers, work longer hours and cope with all sorts of problems while on the job. If that wasn’t enough, we’ve got to deal with family, including getting the kids to school on time all while juggling sixteen different things at once and still making time for some rest and recreation.
Whether we’re more stressed out and anxious than we used to be, or just think we are, feeling relaxed and at one with the world isn’t easy. There is some research to suggest that CBD oil may well have an impact on our stress levels. One piece of research found that CBD reduced anxiety levels in those with generalized social anxiety disorder compared to those who were given a placebo.
Studies in animals have shown there could wider anti-anxiety effects and research carried out in 2015 pointed to the potential for CBD in treating various disorders including PTSD.
So, if you’re feeling stressed out during the day, could a few drops of hemp oil calm you down? There still needs to be plenty of research carried out in this area but there is some anecdotal evidence that hemp oil can have a calming effect and reduce our stress levels.
Hemp Oil and Better Sleep
Stress reduction could also possibly help you get a better night’s sleep. There’s no doubt that one of the most debilitating problems many people face nowadays is not getting enough sleep. Deprivation can make us less efficient and energetic during the day and cause us to be irritable and unfocused. Poor sleep can be caused by a wide range of factors such as stress at work, bad eating habits and drinking and smoking.
A study in the US involving veterans with PTSD did find that administering CBD caused a lessening of their anxiety and improvement with insomnia compared to those being given a placebo. Another found that CBD might help improve the symptoms of sleep apnoea. While that doesn’t mean hemp oil is automatically going to give you a great night’s sleep, there is growing evidence that it may have some effect.
Fitness and Hemp Oil
CBD oil is increasingly being used by athletes and those who take their fitness seriously. There is some suggestion that it has anti-inflammatory effects, allowing people to recover quicker after a particularly arduous exercise session. Other sportsmen and women use CBD cream as a topical application to soothe muscle pain and stiffness.
The fact that it is used by quite a number of professional athletes points to the popularity of CBD oil. While the evidence so far is often limited, some research does point to the efficacy of hemp oil in reducing stress and improving recovery times. Because it’s high in anti-oxidants, hemp oil might also be good for your immune system, perhaps helping you to maintain better health and wellbeing.
